CATL helps popularize replacing lead-acid batteries with lithium-ion batteries
In April 2020, 48,100 telecommunications backup power products developed and produced by CATL passed testing conducted by China Telecommunication Technology Labs (CTTL), the most authoritative laboratory in the telecommunication field in China.
On June 30th, 2020, Schneider Electric, a Fortune Global 500 company with the largest uninterrupted power supply (UPS) market share, signed a global strategic cooperation agreement with CATL to jointly promote the lithium-ion battery substitution of UPS backup batteries globally.
UPS is the last line of defense for ensuring the safe and stable operation of crucial equipment. It also has various stringent requirements for a battery’s safety and reliability, while CATL products fully satisfy all of the requirements.
From cells to systems, CATL can ensure the safety and reliability of products in all respects. In terms of cells, each is equipped with a temperature sensor which enables cell temperature monitoring and high temperature alarm. CATL's battery systems feature a three-layer BMS architecture which can flexibly offer system voltage and energy through a multi-branch design. When one branch breaks down, it can be cut off from the others to ensure the normal operation of the other branches.
CATL will cooperate with more partners to rapidly promote the replacement of lead-acid batteries with lithium batteries, and explore the exciting future of the lithium-ion battery.
